However, since you have an hour window to redeem your FP for any given ride, they don't want to penalize you from getting another FP as soon as you can.

Which means that while you have an hour window in which you can redeem the FP, they assume you use it immediately--therefore making you eligible for a new FP five minutes after the earliest time you can ride.

So, yes, if your window for a FP is 1:00-2:00, at 1:05, five minutes after the earliest time you can redeem the FP, you are eligible for getting a new one.

Thus, it is technically possible to have two FPs at the same time.

They don't know when you redeem the FP, they just know when it's been issued.

Hope that clears it up!Colleen Gleasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15650958015205097847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18101458.post-1147019944194840902006-05-07T11:39:00.000-05:002006-05-07T11:39:00.000-05:00Great article. Did you mean to say that you could get a FP for Buzz Lightyear at 2:05?

Favorite surreal line: Don't wait until you're standing on Main Street in Magic Kingdom at 10am before you decide you want to head to Adventureland before you go to Tomorrowland.Esri Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00912657945785764363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18101458.post-1147010321495203622006-05-07T08:58:00.000-05:002006-05-07T08:58:00.000-05:00I'll meet you there any time, Diane!Trish, I think...I'll meet you there any time, Diane!

Trish, I think the next time we go we'll try to go in October.

Bridget, thank you for the perspective on special needs' children. It's so true that there are a lot of issues that aren't "obvious" and your gentle reminder is very well-taken. Thank you!

Jenna, the Expedition Everest ride was great! I like rollercoasters if they don't have that one big drop--you know, after you go up that long, hill at the beginning of the ride--and so I loved Everest because there isn't one big drop. It's a great ride; my favorite after The Rock-n-Roller Coaster.

We really enjoyed Animal Kingdom this year, in particular, and also Epcot's World Showcase. The kids are older and they enjoyed the wandering around and seeing all the things there were to see, rather than speeding off to ride after ride. Disney's done a lot of things to make Epcot more attractive to the younger set--more characters, more water-splash areas, play areas, and at every station, there's something for the kids to do.

My 5 yo loved everything!Colleen Gleasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15650958015205097847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18101458.post-1146972014698321432006-05-06T22:20:00.000-05:002006-05-06T22:20:00.000-05:00What a wonderful article, Colleen! Did your 5-year-old enjoy the trip as much as the older kids?

What was the Expedition: Everest ride like? I'm drooling to try it. But there's no Indiana Jones ride at Disneyworld yet, right? Only at Disneyland California?

That's a great tip about the water bottle. You can definitely go into sticker shock quick, and that's when there are only 2 people! Thanks for a really great, helpful article. (Now I just have to wait four years or so to go. *grin*)

And Bridget, I really appreciated your perspective, too. In the past when I saw families cutting in line (with no wheelchair or anything) I always assumed they were just rich or famous or something. I promise I'll never give another dirty look based on that assumption! =)Jennie Lucashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05391854333105140789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18101458.post-1146950270497192942006-05-06T16:17:00.000-05:002006-05-06T16:17:00.000-05:00Colleen, these are great tips! Thanks for sharing...Colleen, these are great tips! Thanks for sharing, and I just loved that cute shot of your beautiful family.

One tip I would offer to folks who have kids or family members with special needs, is *definitely* get a special pass so you can be admitted to rides and attractions without waiting in lines. Disney is *wonderful* when it comes to helping people with disabilities. All you need is a certification from your doctor. I know that with our child, who had autism, this made the difference between him enjoying a very special time--or not going at all.

When he was able to meet Pooh and Tigger, his heroes, I remember crying. There were so few joys in his little life at that time, and Disney made it possible with this sensitive policy. I do remember getting dirty looks from people though, because my son was not in a wheelchair or challenged in an obvious way.bridgethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16982970399835564612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18101458.post-1146944563980584192006-05-06T14:42:00.000-05:002006-05-06T14:42:00.000-05:00Colleen is so right about the times to go. And escaping from the winter weather hear for warmer Florida is a great part of the experience.
