I have one sitting on the nightstand that I have almost finished but I have no idea what the name of it is or who the author is. It must not be that book because I started quilting when I have free time. And i don't have much free time...with work, the grandkids, the hubby, etc. Right now I am at a conference in another city but luckily i am just the "help" so while they are having the speakers I can do things like this. Great writing!

And I think they should add Scandalizing the Ton to the list of books you should read along with The Mysterious Miss M. Loved 'em both.

Delle's book is SUPPOSED to be here ASAP! I can't wait.

I just finished When Twilight Burns by Colleen Gleason. I did one of those book chain letters. I hate chain letters, but I thought it's about books so why not? I never really expected to get any books, but I sent one of my own to the next person on the list. Can we say promo!? Well, surprise, surprise. I got two books in the mail. One was Marley and Me. I was going to read it quick, then see the movie. Well, I never read anything quick. Too many other things (like a proposal that I got off to my agent today. Yay!!!) to do. So the movie has come and gone at our local theater, but I'm thinking it won't be as good as the book. I'm almost done. I haven't gotten to the part where the dog dies, but I'm sure I'll cry. That's what I want to do when I write--touch readers' emotions.

I have a ton of Noodler books on my TBR pile. I've already read a quite a few Noodler books, and there hasn't been a bad one in the bunch. And yes, if you haven't read The Mysterious Miss M, it is a must read.Merrilleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08617320163408645299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18101458.post-21970384553425093102009-01-27T21:39:00.000-06:002009-01-27T21:39:00.000-06:00Diane, I bet that was a fun discussion! I can listen and work at something that needs doing around the house or driving somewhere. If I'm needing that escape, but can't sit down to read. Kathy Gilles Seidel (Keep Your Mouth Shut and Wear Beige, May 08), who is also an Austen scholar, led us in a discussion. What fun.

I'm also reading the books I'm judging for the RITA contest so I can't talk about them! But I really liked one I didn't think I'd like.

When I had a day job I listened to audio books and, because I checked them out of the library, I listened to books I would never have picked up off the shelf. It is amazing what I've learned about sentence structure and pacing (and tags) from listening to a book instead of reading one.

I'm listening to Nora Roberts Sister's Trilogy now.
