It varies from house to house. The best ones send ARCs out early and give you a whole bunch of ARCs to do with as you will. And the others...find out from your editor who's handling the publicity and ask them to whom, and most important, when they're sending out review copies. If they say a month before release, aarg. Make a clean copy of your galleys, contact reviewers yourself, and offer to send them as early as you can. I've also heard of people emailing a pdf of their final ms., but I don't know whether I'd want to do that.

Publishers may not tell you who they're sending ARCs or review copies to, but you can always ask them if they're sending to reviewer X, and if not, if they will.

You'll spend some $ in shipping but you can write it off!

E-books, I've no idea.Janet Mullanyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04535985283731981850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18101458.post-26915066073377194472008-06-13T14:51:00.000-05:002008-06-13T14:51:00.000-05:00That's a good question, Mo.And Mary, three hours a...That's a good question, Mo.

And Mary, three hours at Target! Both my publishers have lists of reviewers they send copies to, and I've been VERY lucky. I did have one reviewer contact me because she was intrigued by the best friends premise of my first book, and I sent her a copy. But my publishers have done all the work thus far.MJFredrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06881706931355203700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18101458.post-7618216284564548012008-06-13T13:25:00.000-05:002008-06-13T13:25:00.000-05:00Mary, AKA MJ Fredrick,I'll throw one out on the th...Mary, AKA MJ Fredrick,
I'll throw one out on the theme of the business of writing. How does it all work?Mo Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13644902211036445323noreply@blogger.com
