GRAND PRIZE WINNER!
The Wet Noodle Posse GRAND PRIZE WINNER IS....doglady
Congratulations, doglady. You have won a critique of your Golden Heart partial and synopsis (the 55 pages the GH allows).
Your entry must be sent by Nov 7 and the critique will be returned by Dec 1.
Plus, you may select your critiquer from this list of Wet Noodle Posse volunteers, so please email us asap at noodlegh2007@yahoo.com and tell us who you pick as your critiquer.
Norah Wilson is an award winning author who makes her home in New Brunswick, Canada. She shares her increasingly shrinking space with her husband, two teenage children, a new dog, and a rat. One of 11 children, she long ago discovered how to escape into a book. It was a short hop to escaping into writing books. Norah is a three-time finalist in RWA’s prestigious Golden Heart contest. In 2003, she won the Romantic Times/Dorchester New Voice in Romance Contest with Lauren’s Eyes.
Esri Rose lives in Colorado with her husband, Joe, who makes her laugh, and her cat, Musette, who also makes her laugh but who sheds more. Esri's first book (the one about hot elves) will be released in May 2008. Bound to Love Her is the story of Erin, who accidentally saves an elf in the contemporary town of Boulder, Colorado, and winds up bound to him in a mysterious way. Helping Galan battle the dark elf Fellseth is one thing. Gaining the approval of the elves' female boss, Kutara, is quite another.
*Esri does not feel qualified to critique inspirational, YA, or Historical. She offers a lot of line editing because she can’t help herself. She will finish up the critique with a big-picture recommendation of what to work on.
Trish Morey decided twelve years ago during a maternity leave stint that Chartered Accountancy and office politics would have to go and that writing romance for Mills & Boon was going to be her future. Eleven years on she finally got the call for her GH finalist, which became The Greek Boss’s Demand, published as a HM&B Modern Romance and a Harlequin Presents. Ironically, it was a story featuring both accountancy and office politics. Trish has gone on to sell ten more books since that first call. When she’s not writing, Trish runs around after four school-aged girls, assorted pets and a husband who wonders if his wife has any idea where the vacuum cleaner is kept. (And just for the record, no, she hasn’t. :-) )
*Trish has offered to critique contemporary stories only. She does not feel qualified to critique anything else. Trish will go heavy on the opening and then offer a summary of comments on various aspects such as characterization, conflict, dialogue, etc.
Stephanie Rowe is a two-time Golden Heart finalist. Stephanie writes romantic comedy, and chick lit . She also writes humorous teen fiction as Stephie Davis. She currently shares her household with her son, two dogs, two cats and her own hero, all of whom have been trained to ignore it when she jumps out of bed at 2 a.m. and rushes to the computer to have conversations with imaginary people.
*Stephanie offers a critique geared toward making the book better. Her critique will not be a line-by-line edit. She will write up a summary at the end.
Diane Gaston spent a whole career as a mental health therapist helping other people craft their own happy endings before she start writing Regency Historical Romance. Becoming a Golden Heart finalist in 2003 not only led her to get "The Call" and to win her Golden Heart, but it also made her a Noodler. Diane's Regencies have gone on to win the RITA, the National Readers Choice Award, and The Orange Rose. Diane lives in Virginia with her husband and three ordinary house cats. You can visit her on her website www.dianegaston.com and on the Risky Regencies blog.
Diane has a tendency to line edit and rewrite when she critiques, but just to give an example of how she thinks something could be improved. Diane wants the writer to trust her own judgment before making any changes she suggests.
So, doglady, email us your choice and be prepared to send us your 55 pages by Nov 7!
