Q&A Friday!!!

On this, our first Friday of Giving Thanks month, noodlers are curious about which novels and what characters our readers are most thankful for. What novels and characters make you want to shout thanks to the person who wrote them?

I, for one, am thankful for Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series and the characters of Claire and Jamie. Her writing transports me!

Oh, Outlander series, how do I love thee...

What great books!!! What wonderful characters!!! I recently recommended the series to a novice and I really envy her getting to read all of them for the first time.

Elizabeth Peters, the Amelia Peabody series. There are at least a dozen books, and they are such a wonderful escape. I treasure each one of them.

Gillian,
I love getting recommendations for books and authors I haven't read. I'm adding Elizabeth Peters to my list.

Other than my usual favorites (mostly romance :-) ) there is also JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and dear Frodo as well as Ellis Peters and her Brother Cadfael. I periodically reread LOTR. And I finally own the entire Cadfael series but ration out the books to one or two a year because I don't want them to end.

I'm grateful that the world had Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer. And I'm grateful for all those traditional Regency authors who built my love for the era.

Lately I'm thankful for Mary Blayney's "Kiss" series. After the Traitor's Kiss/Lover's Kiss double book, I'm loving her latest, Stranger's Kiss!
