This Week on the Wet Noodle Posse

Happy Labor Day Weekend! We hope the majority of our readers are enjoying the last few days of summer.

The Posse's thoughts and prayers are with the Hurricane Gustav evacuees as they make their way to safety and shelter. Many of them are in stop and go traffic along the various interstates and highways heading north today.

We're winding up our month of Inspiration and, with the start of September, will begin a discussion of Writer Health.

Monday, September 1st: Overview of Writer Health & Announcement of the Barnes & Noble gift certificate winner

Tuesday, September 2nd: Norah Wilson "Seasonal Affective Disorder"

Wednesday, September 3rd: Karen Potter "Striving for Balance"

Thursday, September 4th: Maureen Hardegree "Just Say No"

Friday, September 5th: September Noodler New Releases

You have all of today to comment and increase your chances of winning that gift certificate!

My thoughts and prayers are with the Hurricane Gustav evacuees as well. I can't possibly imagine going through what they are. Keep your chins up.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the people and animals fleeing Gustav. Because of the Pet Evacuation Transport Act, rescuers cannot refuse to take evacuees pets. Lets hope they stick to it. Thousand of animals lost their lives during Katrina and many, many of the people who died did so because they refused to leave their animals. My adopted Katrina refugee, Boudreaux, is one of them. The rescuers refused to take him so the sweet little old man who owned him died. They found Boudreaux in the house weeks later still standing guard over his person.

I live in LA (Lower Alabama),) but as I am about 80 miles from the coast I think I will be fine. If the evacuation order comes for my area you can rest assured the airline kennels will be loaded and waiting for my brothers' to bring their trucks and take us all to Grandma's! My dogs LOVE to visit Grandma - hurricane or not!

Stay safe all of you in the danger zone. Travel safely!
