Okay, forget the dramatics. despite the huge distraction of the election, I've been able to do pretty well so far. I'm only at 10,000 words right now, which puts me a little behind schedule, but last night I finished my first goal, which was to complete my Paranormal Medieval.
I'm actually breaking one of the rules, which specify that a book should be started from scratch at the beginning of the month. I needed instead to finish three books. Now I need to figure out which one I do next. But in the meantime a new, fairly short story popped into my mind last night when I was in that half-asleep dream state.
Today I'm going to set up Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 on my laptop. I've been putting that off. But I want to see how well I can do with it, starting on a new project. If it's grueling, I'll quit and go back to typing.
Yeek. Last week I couldn't stop Blogger from losing my posts- when it wasn't in German. Now I post and get two of them. Identical, and at exactly the same time. I'll delete it now. Is it only me?
That's great, Patricia! I count those words, at least if I weren't officially enrolled. When I make notes for something I see needs changing or perhaps adding or modifying to a previous chapter, I make the notes in caps and no matter who likes it or not, those words are in my word count. They have to be. I need those notes for the next edit.
Behind, behind, behind! I wanted to be at 18,000 today and I just cracked 15,000.
The election did me in, too--up way past my bedtime, then a late night at school and just exhaustion, then a critique group meeting and an outing with my mom. Two more big distractions this week. Hopefully by Thursday I can catch up.

NaNo! My bane and my joy!

Delle,
I'm having issues when I try to include pictures in my posts. It took me four attempts to get my post up on Wednesday!
Yay for the 10,000 words.
I'm doing it unofficially. 9,685 words. Add in another 1250 if you count the character summary and plot ideas that I drafted during the week.
Feels good.
