Q&A Friday
We began the week with a blog on creating a bucket list for 2009. Since Dianna posted her blog I've been trying to come up with a list of my own. But I've only come up with two. One is to enjoy the moment. Often, while doing something fun, I'm thinking about what I have to do later. Crazy, huh? The only other item on my 2009 bucket list is to spend more time with friends, which sort of goes with the whole enjoy the moment theme.
How about you? Now that you've had a few days to ponder, what's on your Bucket List for 2009?
As always, if you have a writing question, please post it. We're happy to give it our best shot.

Because of our discussions here, this week, I decided to stop settling for what I have always accepted and find out more about myself. (Long story) First step was finding out what my favorite chocolate is. (It seemed an easy place to start.) Surprised myself to discover I love Starbucks milk chocolate. The dark chocolate isn't too bad either, but I truly am a milk chocolate fan at heart. Good to know.
There's an Italian restaurant down the street that has been there for years, but I've never tried it. That's next on the list. So I suppose my list is being created as I go along.
I've always been terribly curious, but curbed it sharply. Starting this week, I'm allowing myself to be curious again. This year is already so much better than I ever anticipated as last year ended.

Judy,
What a wonderful approach to life! My favorite chocolate is Lindor Lindt milk chocolate truffles, not sure if you've tried them.
Love that idea, Judy, to go in search of your favorite chocolate! and Mo, those are my favorite chocolates too. The truffle balls wrapped in red wrapping! Yummy. My next favorite would be a Hershey's bar with almonds. Okay, now I'm craving chocolate...thanks a lot Judy!
I did great at living in the moment last year, so I definitely want to keep that up. No complaining or being judgmental either. The thing that helps me most is getting enough sleep every night. I've made it a priority and I have energy and it makes living in the moment so much easier! :)
Let us know, Judy, when you try the italian restaurant. Those are great things for your list!
Hi Judy -
What a terrific idea to allow yourself to become curious again. It seems like a natural thing to do, but we tend to stop thinking about ourselves with so many demands on our lives.
I didn't realize until reading your post that I stop to get a Chai Latte at Starbucks after a particularly tough week - a treat that only do when I feel like I need a pat on the head. ;)
I'll have to start being more open to the "curious" approach. Thanks for bringing that to everyone's attention.
I love the idea of being more curious, too, Judy!
And more adventurous.
I've done so many things since I started writing, met so many wonderful people (present company included), and gone so many wonderful places, that I shudder at what my life would have been like had I not dared to try something new.
I want to be really healthy and strong and fit and thinner this year. I want to put on clothes and think I really look good in them.
So I guess I'll defer the chocolate experiment for the moment.

There are truffles other than Lindt?
:-)
Mo H, funnily enough, Lindt is my favorite truffle, but for a bite of milk chocolate, it's Starbucks, and for dark chocolate it's Dove.
Sorry, Theresa. I promise to give the chocolate thing a rest. For now. ;-D
A friend called and suggested we go to lunch next week, and I'm hoping we'll try the restaurant.
Me, too, Diane! So in keeping with the curious theme... I'm curious as to how healthy can I learn to be, this year, without giving up chocolate or occasionally eating out?
Here's to an adventurous 2009.

I haven't done my "bucket list" or a blocking out 5 days for the entire year either. I think for the Bucket List I am doing pretty good in general, but I did add a new thing: Ladies Night. I haven't done that in forever and now that we are in a new place, I am forcing myself to work a little harder at getting the few people I have met and I together.
I have a first ladies night date for this month and I am really looking forward to it.
I am good about treating myself in small ways: chocolate, a nice glass of wine, a night out with no cooking.
I am stuck on the 5 days thing. I really want to go to my first RWA conference this year -- if my BF from the Netherlands doesn't come visit me during that time, I plan to use part of my 5 days for that. I am also getting a friend over to visit me in February so we are going to spend 2 days going to new places together and exploring.
I like exploring. And, thankfully, little things satisfy me quite well. I even get excited about going to Trader Joe's in Nashville and getting my favorite frozen food dish there... Mandarin Orange Chicken.
I figure if I am happy with a little, I will always be happy.
As to adventures: writing is BIG adventure for me. This year, a new adventure is to MARKET the writing I've done--again. Maybe I'll get my toe in the door. Who knows?
Christine,
Ladies' Night is a great item to add to your list. Sharing an evening with good friends is one of the best uses of time I think there is. Hope you're able to make the RWA conference.
