Add a spouse who says, "They just don't get you--I read your book and it's great. Don't stop." when I get a rejection or a less than stellar review or any other of the myriad setbacks that seem to outweigh the forward progress
Chocolate, wine, calling a fellow friend who writes and says your turn will come, calling a reader who says I really liked your ms and I know it will sell if you try to market it... I had a tough week, but I'm easing out of it with encouragement and lots of chocolate. Also, just getting back to work and finding a new way to approach and tackle the problem is a good one for me as well.
I agree, Christine...getting back to work on the manuscript is always helpful for me! Tea and chocolate can't hurt either. Exercise really gets the juices flowing and my husband says "they don't get it!" even though he's never read a word of my work. ha!
Friends and family are the best...especially writer friends who totally "get it."
It's been a chocolate kind of week for me, but I think my hips will survive the onslaught. I also like exercising. Walking and Wii Fit are my two favorites right now.

Chocolate, Earl Gray tea, romance novels and my animal companions. Take any of those things out of the equation and the results will NOT be pretty!

Louisa,
Good list! I need to add those to mine, too!
Terry,
That sort of encouragement from your spouse can really make a difference.
Christine,
I'm noticing the many mentions of chocolate. LOL!
