Q&A Friday!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Noodlers get their mammograms as do our readers (we hope). After my annual squishing, I treat myself to lunch and a dose of ibuprofen.
How do you reward yourself after your mammogram?

I go home and just try to forget it. A few days ago there was a (discreet) photo of a local woman having her yearly mammogram on the front page of the Oregonian. I showed it to hubby, who just looked confused. What, guys don't think it hurts to get squished?
Yikes! Mine is tomorrow morning. Thank you for the idea to treat myself after it's over.
I have denied myself chocolate covered orange peels all year. I think tomorrow is a good day to get some--that and aspirin. Oww.
LOL, Maria. I think you should definitely treat yourself to some chocolate covered orange peels tomorrow. I've never had those! Must give them a try.
Yipes. I have to schedule mine.
My sister is an 8-year breast cancer survivor and takes me to my appointment. It reminds me how blessed I am. I also reward myself for actually making the appointment. Isn't that what my Amazon wish list is for? :-)
I've got such easily squished mamms that I don't find the process anything more than a tad uncomfortable--no worse than what my ob-gyn puts me through. I don't normally reward myself for routine medical procedures -- but any excuse for a chocolate fix works for me. I'll have to add that one.
The imaging center gave me a nice pink ribbon car magnet, and I just went about my daily routines feeling that I'd done a 'right' thing. My mom's a breast cancer survivor, and although she had a "mild" form (if there is such a thing), I'm still extra sure to get an annual screening.
What I can't understand is why women would NOT get the screening, considering the alternative could be undiscovered cancer.
(And I've got a pink ribbon on my website this month, too.)
This month always brings a tear to my eye...
Funny, Delle!
Maria,
Yup, a reward is in order! Hope it went well.
Judy,
That's great that your sister is your buddy, and a book from your wish list is a great reward!
Diane,
I need to schedule mine, too!
Terry,
Any excuse for chocolate is a good one in my book!
Gina,
Hugs. This month has to be difficult for those battling it, or those who have loved ones battling it, or those who have lost someone to breast cancer.
