Q&A Friday--Spring Fashion Trends
This year's spring fashion trends are, dare I say it, doable for many of us. After perusing my daughter's Teen Vogue and surfing the net for what's "in," (glamour.com is a great resource for fashion trends, by the way) I actually think I could incorporate a few of these trends. Here are a few:
Bright handbags
Oversized Jewelry such as bib necklaces, oversized earrings, big bangle bracelets (only one of these accessories at a time, though)
Peaches and Pinks
Hot Pink
Black on White Prints
Evening Trench Coats
Pastels
What trends won't I be wearing? Ruffles, animal prints, 80's flair (been there, done that), Boho, and the relaxed fit harem-style pant that hits just below the calf muscle.
What spring fashions will you be sporting this spring? What fashion trends don't make the cut for you?

LOL! Fashion? That means I'd actually go out and buy new clothes. Besides, my usual shopping haunt is Stein Mart which is usually a season or two behind. And they say if you participated in a style when it was new, you're too old to pull it off when it comes back. That leaves me out of a lot of stuff.
I sit home in the Florida heat and write. Who needs clothes?
That blk/wt dress is gorgeous, the bag is too, but loaded with all my stuff would weight a ton, and I'm just too cheap for many clothes--the fashion budget goes to the kids, don't ya know? :)
That said, if I find a pretty peach I'm all over it. Almost everyone looks good in peach. Other than that, I'm a very tan/navy/white or jeans gal most of the time. I do remember how much fun it was to dress up every day at Nationals two years ago. but if I had to every day? Yuck.
Terry,
I agree with you on the whole not wearing a style when you see it redone (no 80's redo for me)!
Gillian,
I'm a jeans girl most days, too. Luckily, my daughter helps me when events require more than jeans and a t-shirt. She actually goes through my closet and puts outfits together for me, including accessories!
I don't pay much attention to fashion. My one daughter who loves to have the latest fashions just shakes her head. I live in jeans in the winter and shorts in the summer. I do like the bright purses, but I like them small.
Love the purse! Love the dress too--I like nice clothes, but I tend to wear the same stuff all the time. I do like wearing skirts and dresses that are less binding than jeans.
Must find a purse like that lime green one--it is very cool looking.
I'm not much for fashion, but I love pretty clothes. Of late though, I've become far more concerned about how they feel; I want soft, and the softer the better.
As for the purse, well, after messing up my back I can't carry much, so I have these cute little leather pouches I picked up at the local Ren Faire. The running joke is that I still manage to "lose" things in there.
I really like black-and-white clothing, so I like that trend. And I've seen some lovely evening trenches lately.
The other day I caught part of a TV show in which a fashion guru took several things from a woman's closet and showed her how to jazz them up for this season. Stuff like adding a belt to a classic shirt, etc.
Great idea but not so easy to execute. At least not for me. When I get dressed, it's usually done at the last minute and I grab whatever is clean and handy.
I do love lots of this year's colors. Black & white is so easy to accessorize, and I've seen some wonderfully vibrant jewel tones.
Has anyone noticed that jumpsuits are making a bit of a comeback? I, for one, do not plan to go there again!
I already ordered a really bright handbag from this cool store near me. You can design your own bag from her many patterns and fabric samples. Looks like I'll be trendy this year. How new and different for me!
