Friday Q & A

Another great week, and our last week on research, because next month (Monday!) we move onto the topic of promotion for writers (and yes, even if you're not yet published, it's never too early).

Here's what we covered this week:

Noodler Theresa Ragan gave us the scoop on using Google books and the Books for Dummies series;

Guest Jeanne Adams raised the ick level with her body disposal methods;

Noodler Lorelle Marinello shared her experiences with geneaology research;

And Guest Nancy Northcott made her confessions as a research geek.

Don't forget, a random drawing will be held to award an Amazon gift certificate for comments and questions.

Ask away!

Lorelle Marinello's topic was interesting for me as dh does geneaology research and usually the one question I ask authors at chat is 'what resources do you use for research purposes'? What a coincidence.

My question...

I love all those blog topics. Where do you get them? Is it a thing of the moment or do you really do a thorough preparation!

Nathalie,
we all decided on the theme of each month, following what made sense in how we go about writing a book and the other things that come up, like the RWA conference and promotion.

After that we just volunteer to talk about whatever we want to talk about that is on the monthly topic. And we invite guest bloggers who have something unique to say about the topic.

We might brainstorm as to what would be good topic areas and, if we do, one of us volunteers to do something that interests us. Or one of us knows someone who could guest blog on the topic. It is a rather loose organization!

Each month has a coordinator, who makes certain things run smoothly for that month. And Maureen keeps an eye on everything and will jump in if needed.

Somehow it works!!
